The Cause Of Dandruff


Dandruff is caused by the fungus Malassezia furfur. This fungus is found on the surface of the skin on those individuals with dandruff and with individuals without dandruff. Since the fungus likes fat, it is found on skin areas with a lot of sebaceous glands including the scalp, face and upper part of the body.
When this fungus (Malassezia furfur) grows very rapidly, it likes fat and is consequently found most on skin areas with many sebaceous glands which include the scalp, face and upper part of the body. When Malassezia furfur grows too rapidly, the natural restoration of cells is unbalanced and dandruff starts to appear with extreme itching. There are also other fungi which may have cause dandruff as well.
Dandruff can be also caused by internal and external. The internal causes include hormonal imbalance, emotional stress, poor hygiene, poor health, allergic hypersensitivity, lack of rest,, improper nutrition such as lack of vitamin B-complex, or fatty acids like omega-3 and other vitamins), due genetic tendency, taking wrong foods and development of a toxic condition, constipation, low vitality due to contagious diseases, taking too much sugar, fat, starch, and so on.
The other cause of dandruff is external. It is caused by causes that contribute to dandruff are severe use of  shampoos, exposure to cold and extreme weather, dust and wind, too much  use of hair gels, hair sprays  and other chemicals like  hair coloring agents. It is also caused by too much UV exposure, too much perspiration, using soaps with too much alkaline in it, yeast infection in women and so on.
